Today's post is about search engine optimisation and in particular proof that by doing the right things it is possible to get a Google or Yahoo page 1 ranking within 8 days of launching a new website!
Last weekend the new SME Web Design website was launched. The site was specifically designed using on-page search engine optimisation techniques plus the creation and registration with Google of an XML Sitemap. These techniques are covered in some detail in our "website search egine optimisation" web page.
The old website had already achieved nr 1 rankings with Google and Yahoo for the keyword phrases "smewebdesign" and "sme web design".Yesterday I ran a Rankings Report using my Web CEO software and to my delight noticed that the vast majority of the targeted keyword phrases had acquired excellent rankings with both Google and Yahoo. Out of the 12 targeted keyword phrases 6 had nr 1 positions with Google UK and 2 had top 10, 2 had top 20, and 2 had top 100 positions. A quite amazing return in such a short period of time! This is clear evidence that by following professional tried and tested seo on-page techniques in conjunction with the registration of a Google Sitemap produces excellent results in quick time! This also destroys the myth that excellent rankings can only be achieved with external link building, as 9 of the keyword phrases optimised for will not yet have acquired any in-bound links.
